Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur World, Hoo, Hadley, Telford TF6 6DJ.

When looking to visit Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur World, tickets can be purchased both online and at the attraction. Financially, we found it beneficial to prebook online. This is due to an online discount they offer, which saves around £3 per person.

Ticket prices (pre-booked prices - these were correct as of the 07/04/2024):
Adult - £16.95
Under 2 and Carers – Free
2-15 years – £15.95
60+ years - £15.45

Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur World also offer family tickets and are open to the public daily 10am-5pm.

We spent around 2 1/2 hours there, which during the time visiting it was partially raining. If the weather was better, you could easily last at least 4 hours there.

At Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur World, there was a variety of different animals to see. This included wolves, owls, different types of wild cats (Scottish wildcat, Caracal, Bob Cat and many more), meerkats, deer and many more. There is a walkthrough lemur area (open holidays and weekends from March-October), a play park, a small soft play (I would say suitable for under 5-year-olds) and a small gift shop. Throughout the day there were animal talks, and you can even help feed the deer.

Our favourite area was the large dinosaur walkthrough. We got to read facts about each dinosaur when visiting the statues and there were dinosaur noises with moving dinosaurs while walking around which made the experience feel more real. At the end of the walkthrough the boys could do some fossil sweeping to reveal the hidden fossils/dinosaur bones.

There is parking available in a small hard surfaced carpark. This carpark had limited disabled spaces and no child spaces. There is also an overflow carpark available, however this wasn’t the closet to the attraction, which caused many visitors to park on the main road stretch. Parking was free of charge.

While at Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur World, you can stop for something to eat at their tearoom which is by the main entrance. The food prices were reasonable for what you would expect to find on a day out, however we found it would have been much cheaper to bring a picnic with us. When buying food from the attraction, you can sit inside at the tables by the small soft play which had a caged wood burner to keep you warm. There were also plenty of picnic benches outside to enjoy your home brought lunch.

When we visited, our children were 2 ½ years and 13 months old. We found this day out had something for everyone, no matter your age.

Toilets, including accessibility and baby changing facilities, are only available by the tearoom. There were quite a few hand washing stations around the attraction to be able to clean your hands if you touched/fed any of the animals.

We found the paths at the zoo quite flat and did not struggle to push a pushchair around.

Overall, we would visit again. When we saw staff, they seemed friendly and helpful. We felt the land was big enough to potentially have a few more animal variations and were disappointed by the size of the main carpark, we have rated this day out 4 stars out of 5.
