Great Orme Mines are open to the public daily mid March-end of October. They open at 9:30am and the last admission is at 4:30pm.

We spent around 1 1/2 hours there. If we took a picnic with us, we could have stayed longer.

At the Great Orme Mines, there was a self guided mine tour, along with historic facts located throughout the attraction. There is also a good sized gift shop.

Our favourite part was going through the mine. We ended up doing this twice. Throughout the mine there are facts that haven't used too hard of vocabulary, which meant the boys understood the information we were reading to them easily.

There is plenty of parking available in a sandy gravel style carpark. Parking was free of charge.

While at Great Orme Mines there was a hut next to the picnic table area, however this was not open on our visit. There is however many pubs and cafes in the town centre which is around a 5 minute drive from the mine.

When we visited, our eldest was almost 4 years old and our youngest was 2 1/2 years old. We found this day out had something for everyone, no matter your age.

The toilets at the mine are located in the carpark by the entrance.

We found the pathways wide and mostly flat around the outside of the mine, however the pathways are very narrow with some steps involved inside the mine. The mine is not suitable for pushchairs.

Overall, we would visit again if we were in the area. We loved being able to visit the mine at our own pace where it was self guided and we found the gift shop prices were extremely reasonable, however we do wish they had some interactive stations or children's learning activity sheets to complete while learning about the mine. Therefore we have rated this day out 4 stars out of 5.
