We spent around 1 1/2 hours there. It had been raining the night before which meant the park equipment was wet and slippery. We could have easily have spent another half an hour here if the equipment was dry.

At the Fairfield Animal Centre, there was a variety of different animals to see. This included highland cows, sheep, rabbits, and many more. There was a outdoor play area, a gift shop, and a cafe.

Our favourite part was seeing the highland cows. They were extremely friendly and came right up close to us.

There is plenty of parking available in both a hardstanding carpark and a grass carpark. Parking was free of charge.

While at the Fairfield Animal Centre, you can stop for something to eat at their cafe (however there was no indoor seating) or sit at one of their many picnic benches for a home packed lunch. For a child's lunchbox which included a sandwich, crisps, fruit, biscuits and drink, this was £4.95.

When we visited, our eldest was 3 1/2 years old and our youngest was 2 years old. We found this day out had something for everyone, no matter your age.

We found two sets of toilets. One was located at the entrance near the cafe, the other was located half way round the centre.

We found the pathways wide and mostly flat. During wet weather, it became muddy for close to half the centre.

Overall, we would happily visit again if we were in the area. We loved seeing the animals they had, especially with how friendly they all were, however we felt the outdoor play equipment could have had grip tape added to more sections to prevent how slippery it became, have seating indoors to be able to eat inside and the pathways could be concreted over to make it more suitable for all year use, therefore we have rated this day out 3 1/2 stars out of 5.
