Dartmoor Zoo is open to the public daily 10am-4pm. However, during the summer holidays they extend the closing time to 5pm.

We spent around 5 hours there. The weather was on and off rain. We could have easily have spent the whole 10am-5pm day here if the weather stayed sunny.

At Dartmoor Zoo, there was a variety of different animals to see. This included a tiger, a cheetah, lions, a leopard, zebras,  and many more. There were two small park areas, a walk through area where you could see wallabys, an education centre (dartmoor institute of animal science), a gift shop, a small indoor softplay, food huts and a restaurant.

Our favourite part was seeing Dragan the tiger. He came extremely close to the fencing and loved sleeping on his large rock.

There is plenty of parking available in a hard surface carpark. There is also disabled parking spaces available. Parking is free of charge.

While at Dartmoor Zoo, you can stop for something to eat at either their cafe or their huts which are jotted around the attraction. We decided to eat lunch at the restaurant. A child's chicken bites with chips and peas was £6.50 and a small cheesy chips was £4.50. There were also picnic benches jotted around and a grass area by the park next to the cheetah  enclosure to enjoy a picnic.

When we visited, our eldest was 3 1/2 years old and our youngest was 22 months. We found this day out had something for everyone, no matter your age.

We found toilets jotted around the attraction and there were also toilets in the restaurant where changing facilities and accessibility toilets were also available.

We found the paths quite steep and muddy in some areas however we did not struggle to push the pushchair around the zoo.

Overall, we would happily drive here to visit again. When we saw staff, they were friendly and helpful to us. This included the volunteers who loved sharing lots of information on each of the animals. The land the attraction had was quite large and there was a variety of animals to visit, however due to how steep and muddy the pathways could become, we have rated this day out 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
