Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth, Dorset, DT6 6LR.

We found Charmouth Beach to be a rocky long beach. This beach is part of the Jurassic Coast, meaning fossils can often be found. Do not worry if you cannot find any, as there is a couple of shops to go in which you can see and buy fossils from, plus there is a heirtage coast centre open during the summer months everyday 10:30am-4:30 pm except tuesdays. They are also open during the winter months, however you would need to check their website for their opening times and days as this can vary.

To access the beach there was a wooden bridge to cross from the carpark. There were no stairs.

At Charmouth Beach, there was no litter around.

There is plenty of parking available in a hard surface pay and display carpark next to the beach. The Charmouth Beach Car Park cost us £3 for 2 hours however there was also an option of £6 for all day parking.

When visiting, there was a small hut selling food and drink on the beach itself.
This beach allowed dogs during the winter months off lead and on lead between 1st May - 30th September.

There was a block of toilets at the rear of the coastal centre.

Overall, we would visit again if we were in the area. We had a great time attempting to look for fossils and we loved the fact there were a couple of small business shops to go in, however we found the carpark quite highly priced for what was in the area. As a result, we have rated this beach 4 stars out of 5.
