Birdland is open to the public daily 10am-5pm.

We spent around 3 1/2 hours here, including having lunch.

At Birdland there are many variations of birds to see including penguins, flamingos and owls, a dinsoaur walk through area, a play park, gift shop and cafe.

Our favourite part was the walk through farm section which had tortoises to see as the boys got to go super close and even stroke them.

There is plenty of parking available in a pay and display car park next to the maze. We used the 'pay by phone' app to purchase our ticket. We paid £10.10 for 10 hours as we decided to also visit the model village and the dragonfly maze while we were visiting.

While at Birdland, there is a cafe to purchase food from and there are picnic benches scattered around to enjoy a home packed lunch too.

When we visited, our eldest was 4 years old and our youngest was 2 1/2 years old. We found this day out had something for everyone, no matter your age.

We found one block of toilets by the entrance, which in each gendered section were only 2 toilets available to use at a time.

We found the pathways were quite smooth and only found the dinosaur section to be more bumpy. We did not bring our pushchair in with us, however I do not feel we would have struggled.

Overall, we would happily visit again if we were in the area. We loved that they had educational talks throughout the day, hand santizer stations were located throughout the attraction and that they had king penguins as well as the typical humboldt penguins, however we felt there could have been more toilets on site and that their play park area could have been bigger with more sections suitable for younger children, therefore we have rated this day out 4 stars out of 5.

Date of visit: April 2025
