Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, NR30 3JG.

When looking to visit the Merrivale Model Village, tickets can be purchased both online and on the door.

Ticket prices (these were correct as of the 25/07/2024):
Under 3 - Free
Child (3-11) -  £8
Adult (12+) - £12

When we arrived, we were advised our tickets were valid for 7 days so we would be able to visit again in this timeframe.

Merrivale Model Village is open to the public 10am-5pm.

We spent around 1 hour there. We could have spent longer there if the boys were older and we played the mini golf properly and if we spent time in the old penny arcade.

This day out could be paired with Great Yarmouth Seafront Beach and the Sea Life centre

At Merrivale Model Village there were many model buildings to view (some of the models had interactive buttons which made the model either play sound or move), mini golf, old penny arcade, gift shop and amusement section.

Our favourite part of the Merrivale Model Village was the train model. There was an interactive button which made sounds and created two trains to approach under the tunnel and around the model village.

The boys also enjoyed feeding the fish. We purchased a small bag of fish food for £1 each. There was also a 20p machine to purchase smaller amounts of fish food by the pond.

There is no parking for this attraction, however there are plenty of pay and display car parks around. We parked at the Royal Assembly Rooms as they offered all day parking for £8.

While at the Merrivale Model Village there was a tea room where food could be purchased. When walking past, a child's burger, chips and juice carton came to £6.90 and an adults bacon and brie brioche baguette with crisps, salad and cranberry sauce was £9.90. Picnic benches were available by the mini golf to enjoy your own picnic.

When we visited, our eldest was 3 years old and our youngest was 21 months old. We found this to be a fun family trip.

We found two set of toilets, one by the mini golf (near the entrance) and one by the exit. Disabled and changing facilities were available.

We found the pathways wide enough to fit our double pushchair and did not struggle to to push it as the paths were flat and smooth.

Overall, we would visit again if we were in the area. When we saw staff they were friendly and we loved the detail in the models. However, due to them not having their own car park and some of the interactive buttons not working, we have rated this day out 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

Date of visit: July 2024
